Scientific discovery takes center stage in Reno, Nevada at the 2009 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF)

The 2009 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) will bring 1,600 exceptional high-school science students from more than 50 countries to Reno to compete for $4 million in prize money as semi-finalists in the world’s largest science, math, and engineering competition.
ISEF is the world's largest pre-college science competition and provides an opportunity for the best young scientists from around the globe to share ideas, showcase cutting-edge science projects, and compete for awards and scholarships.
The Society for Science & the Public partners with Intel—along with dozens of other corporate, academic, government and science-focused sponsors—who provide support and awards for the Intel ISEF each year.
To reach the Intel ISEF, you follow this path:
First, you compete in a high school or local science fair.
If you win at the high school or local level, you can then compete in a regional or state fair.
If you win at the regional or state level, you may be eligible to compete at the Intel ISEF. Each affiliated fair can send up to two individual finalists and one team consisting of up to three members to represent them at the Intel ISEF.
