The purpose of ECH is to promote math and science education, enhance opportunities for professional development and discussion, and to serve as a focal point for informing the public on engineering, science, and technical matters.



What's New

ECH 2008-2009 year has begun, and we're planning new activities. And the ECH web site changes are in progess. Give us your feedback at the new web site forum.
 
Planning is starting for next year's Science and Engineering Fair of Houston 50th anniversary. Look for ongoing updates.
 
National Engineering Week Texas-Houston Future City Competition 2009 registration has started for 7th and 8th grade students in public, private, or home schools. Organizers and supporters are providing free school registration for the first 25 schools, or those registering before Sept 15. Call for judges will take place this fall. Contact Zafar Taqvi at Z.Taqvi@ieee.org for registration information, and see www.futurecity.org for details.

  • Sponsor Science & Engineering Fair of Houston
  • Sponsor Houston Museum of Natural Science high school interns
  • Recognize outstanding corporate contributions to science, technology, engineering, and math education for grades K-12
  • Partner with education non-profit organizations to provide tools and support for teachers
  • Provide conferences about scientific issues concerning Houston
  • Help member organizations publicize events
  • Provide web links to career information and job opportunities
  • Provide articles and web links to information about science, technology, engineering, and math

ECH helps sponsor a number of summer interns at the Houston Museum of Natural Science (HMNS) each summer. These local area high school students assist with demonstrations and other learning activities that are conducted at the museum through out the summer.
